The Hk furniture line was inspired by a traditional construction method, solid wood roll-up doors. This system was widely used in the archival furniture of the 1950s-60s, which inspired the creators of this sideboard to use this basis in their design. Solid wood slats give movement to a static piece, they give dynamism and a unique form of expression. This is how the idea of applying this method as a door and as a cover simultaneously came about, like a skin.
